People Values "How we treat each other"

People Values are universally accepted principles that let people know that there is a predictable way that they will be treated at work. These people values are the glue that bonds universal human needs and aspirations to an organization's goals, business strategies and vision.

The Eight People Values of the Shared Values Process

  • Treat Others With Uncompromising TRUTH
  • Lavish TRUST On Your Associates
  • MENTOR Unselfishly
  • Be Receptive To NEW IDEAS, Regardless Of Their Origin
  • Take PERSONAL RISK For The Organization's Sake
  • GIVE CREDIT Where It Is Due
  • Do Not Touch DISHONEST DOLLARS
  • Put The INTERESTS OF OTHERS Before Your Own
WHERE did we get these Values?

DISCLAIMER:
We know that people already have values! Therefore, The Shared Values Process DOES NOT attempt to TEACH values. The purpose of Shared Values is to allow everyone to express these values at work as readily as they do in their personal lives and in a measurable way.

The strength of the Shared Values Process is taking these values from abstract goals that we acknowledge as worthy and put into existence, real-world practices and behavioral standards.

Why The BALANCE Between Business Values And People Values Is The Key!

The purpose of focusing on a balance between the People Values and the Business Values is so that the needs of the people AND the needs of the business are met. It is not enough to just have one side of that scale be taken care of to the detriment of the other.
