Vitalwork expertise (and how we deliver it)

Working Relationships—not as scary as they seem

We believe a healthy company is equal parts “hard stuff” (business strategies, financial objectives, tactics, data, reports) and “soft stuff” (workplace culture, team dynamics, leadership capacity, truth-telling, communication quality). Our human resources consulting focus is the soft stuff—the elements of working relationships that keep you up at night.

No one taught this part in business school. Maybe you don’t even like to think about it. But you can’t escape it. Dealing with it is the price you have to pay to reach the other side—where business success beckons.

At Vitalwork, we love everything about “the soft stuff.” It’s our passion. So let us be your guide. The journey is not as frightening as it looks.

When it’s time to call Vitalwork

When do you need us? We often find that we hear from companies during times of change. We have substantial experience dealing with companies in industries where change is rapid and unrelenting—such as technology, healthcare, telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical. (View our client list.)

Specifically, we find we add exceptional value in these kinds of scenarios:

  • Addressing the “people part” of restructuring for regional or global positioning or during the installation of new “global” systems
  • Building “culture preparedness” in response to the competitive environment caused by industry deregulation
  • Invigorating executive teams or other functional teams under new leadership; assimilating new leaders into critical functional leadership positions
  • Reducing employee turnover and its associated costs
  • Growing the leadership capacity of employees in critical positions
  • Improving the vitality of intact teams
  • Boosting workplace cultures in need of greater synergy, energy, and accountability
  • Integrating disparate workplace cultures following merger or acquisition
  • Partnering with business leaders who are losing sleep over productivity, change management, quality, safety, diversity, work relationships, performance

AboutVitalwork

Vitalwork Partnership for Results

We’ve created a disciplined practice model to see your vision for the company through to business success. Our steps include:

1. Envision (and make your commitment)

We begin with your vision, and the relevant Challenges, Opportunities and Results—our COR Analysis.

2. Assess (your current state)

Our Current State Report captures data and research that reflect your culture and the best methods to impact it.

3. Design (a working plan)

We synthesize what we know about your organization and vision and make detailed recommendations in a Work Plan. We look for the highest ROI.

4. Engage. (sparking people. change. business.)

Where we do the vital work that’s required. Our workshops, coaching, and assignments enable people to participate in a process of personal and organizational transformation that’s consistent with your vision. Our engagements are marked by continuous flexibility. Your circumstances change, the market shifts—no matter what, we adapt so that your vision is realized.

5. Evaluate (results against goals)

Using tools such as engagement surveys, post-work interviews, participant feedback, observation of changed behaviors. Our Evaluation Summary delivers the data you need to show where value and ROI were realized.

6. Sustain (momentum for the future)

We spend time with you to determine ways to keep the momentum alive and prevent a drift back to previous patterns. Our Momentum Recommendations detail it all.

7. Celebrate (results achieved)

We recommend a formal acknowledgement to honor the participants and what they have achieved.

We become your “vision partner”. We demonstrate it in how we listen, share observations, customize our talent to your challenges, and adapt as work goes on. Among the efforts we provide:

  • Regular session debriefs – to keep you informed
  • Sponsor coaching – to help you optimize the work we’re doing with your employees
  • Program participant coaching – as needed to address issues not conducive to a group setting
  • Administrative support – all the details worked out with your support team
  • Supplemental information sharing – articles, commentary, web links to support continued learning
  • Knowledge products – for self-paced learning and team development
